| | - HardyNet Security provides password protection to prevent unauthorized modifications to the channel sequence.
- Each WPM unit has a unique serial number. The 6600 has a process called Discovery for locating units on its network. Press the Start Discovery button to begin this process.
- Discovered units are added to a list that is saved in non-volatile memory. The discovery process will only add units to this list. If a unit has been removed from the system, you must manually delete it from the list by pressing the Delete Channel button. If you accidentally delete a unit, it will be found again when you "Start Discovery" again.
- Each WPM unit has an Channel ID parameter, stored in the gateway's non-volatile memory. This parameter can be used to give a meaningful name to the instrument.
- The gateway itself has a Instrument ID parameter to identify it.
- If you select a WPM in the Channel drop down list and then press the Identify On button, and LED on the selected WPM will begin to blink. This lets you visibly identify the selected instrument. Press Identify Off to stop the blinking before trying to identify a different unit.
- If you need to have the units in a particular order in the channel list, you may use the Swap Channels to move them into the order you want.
- When you delete a channel, the parameters associated with that unit remain in memory. If you need to replace a single unit you may follow these steps to put in a new unit with the same parameters as the removed unit:
- Delete Channel on the unit to be removed.
- Place the new unit on the network.
- Start Discovery to find the new unit. The new unit should now have the parameters of the old one.
- The new unit will appear at the end of the channel list. If need be, you may swap it into the position you want it to be.
